We Care

Sustaining Nature, Growing Responsibly

At Howbill Farming, we are committed to responsible and sustainable farming practices. We continuously seek ways to reduce our environmental impact and preserve our natural resources.

Renewable Energy

We generate solar power to supplement our electricity needs, reducing our reliance on fossil fuel-generated electricity.

Pest Management

Integrated pest management practices help us reduce the use of hazardous chemicals on our crops and in our orchards.

Soil Health

Compost and cover crops are used to improve soil health and minimise nitrogen contamination of groundwater from inorganic fertilisers.

Water Conservation

Water is our most precious natural resource. We constantly improve our irrigation systems and explore methods to produce high-quality fruit using less water.

Waste Management

We are actively improving our waste management, including dedicated recycling initiatives for both residential and business operations.

OUR PEOPLE

Social & Welfare

Clinic

We have an on-site clinic staffed by a registered nurse, supported by two full-time healthcare workers employed by the farm.

Crèche and Aftercare Facility

Our farms, Molenrivier and Parys, each have a crèche and aftercare facility, providing farmworkers’ children with a structured learning environment while their parents work.

Sport

We encourage the formation of employee-led sports teams and clubs, including rugby, soccer, and athletics. Our teams perform exceptionally well in their respective leagues and competitions.

Training and Development

We actively seek opportunities to upskill our workforce and are dedicated to supporting the training and development of young people within our community.
